ABOUT BAIYUPAN

You are a God. And you have arrived to the Moon for one reason. To find your personal peace.

Inspired by Chinese mythology, the world of BaiYuPan is beautifully told through the artistry of kutani, according to artist Airi Pan's vision. Each piece is representative of a key story element: the Godling cup, the Service plate, and the Eternity plate.

Depicted characters play on the surface of the ceramic, looking for their peace through rest, service, or daily work. Created out of a wish for functional artwork, we hope each of these pieces can help make your everyday more beautiful

ONE YEAR IN THE MAKING

This project took a full year to create, driven by a mission to combine art, world building and functionality. Each plate is made in the Kutani tradition, a celebrated style of Japanese porcelain from Ishikawa Prefecture with over 350 years of history.

Every color is mixed by hand to match the design and fired multiple times by hand, layer by layer, giving each hue its own depth and character. Created in collaboration with the craftsmen of Kitano Tojudo in Ishikawa, with logistics and support from Qwertic, each piece is made to order, fired in Ishikawa, and delivered to your doorstep.

We hope that a year of careful preparation results in a piece made to last you a lifetime.

SHOP PRODUCTS

This second round pre-order is available until 23:59 on March 31st Pacific Time.

  • What is Kutani?

Kutani ware is a traditional style of Japanese ceramics with over 360 years of history, renowned for for its vivid colors, distinctive glazing techniques, and intricate, expressive designs.

  • Are the porcelains dishwasher safe?

While the pieces are dishwasher safe, we strongly recommended to hand wash the glasses with mild detergent and a soft sponge.

  • Do you offer international shipping?

Yes! Our fulfiller, Qwertic ships internationally to customers outside of the United States.

  • How long does it take to arrive? / How can I track my order?

For our pottery partner Kitano Tojudo, each plate takes up to 4-5 months to create and deliver.

Why? Every piece in the BaiYuPan collection is made by expert craftsmen, so it must be made-to-order. This quality is not something that can be mass-produced - it requires detailed mastery of Kutani by a craftsman’s hand. So depending on when you ordered, you will receive your art pieces on different dates.

    • If you ordered BEFORE March 1st, your order will arrive in April 2026.
    • If you ordered AFTER March 1st, your order will arrive in September 2026.

Everything bought BEFORE March 1st will be produced first, hence the earlier delivery. In April, production will begin on all purchases AFTER March 1st.

We will keep you updated on the production and shipping status once you order via the email you provide us.

Once we start shipping, we will notice a tracking number via email.

  • When will I be charged for my order?

For orders made AFTER March 1st, there will be a deferred charge. Customers will not actually be charged until your product is ready to ship.

  • Why are the U.S. and International shipping prices and processes different?

This is due to tariff regulation changes in the United States. We have worked hard to find solutions to make the pricing as low as possible for U.S. customers. The best solution was the one we are currently implementing, to ship to a U.S. warehouse first and then direct to U.S. customers.

For customers outside of the U.S., tariffs aren't an issue!

  • Are there discounts available when purchasing multiple sets of glasses?

Our three-piece set is available for $125, and the Godling Cup + Service Plate set is available for $70. At this time, we do not offer additional discounts for bulk or multiple-set purchases.

  • What is your return policy?

Due to the handmade nature of our ceramics, each piece may feature subtle variations that are inherent to the artisanal process. If you believe your item has a defect beyond these natural variations, you may request a return by providing image documentation to baiyupan.kutani@gmail.com for review.

  • My order arrived damaged—what do I do?

If your item was damaged during transit, please contact us at baiyupan.kutani@gmail.com with photos of the damaged piece and packaging, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
